FYI: Crystal Palace FC is doing a one-week, two-match USA pre-season tour this July. On July 16th, they'll be playing against (my dearly beloved) Harrisburg City Islanders at Clipper Magazine Stadium in Lancaster, PA. Tickets are $12 general admission. Crystal Palace FC is based in southern London and play in the Champions League, which is one step below the Premiership. (They were relegated back in 2004) This is top notch stuff. Similar to the Penguins going to play Jokerit in the preseason. CPFC has been playing since 1905. Harrisburg City Islanders are double-A soccer, playing in the USL 2nd Division. They've got a good squad this year, but will certainly be outclassed by the British team. Still, it should be a fun match. Just wanted to give you a heads up incase anybody wanted to make the trip. It's not that often you get to see an English team playing States-side. Harrisburg City Islanders www.cityislanders.com/USL-2 usl2.uslsoccer.com/Lancaster Barnstormers (the match will be held in their baseball stadium since HCI's home field only seats about 2000 on aluminum bleachers. Clipper Magazine Stadium is new and looked good from the pictures I've seen. The Atlantic League of Pro Baseball has got some quality organizations.) lancasterbarnstormers.com/index.cfmCrystal Palace FC (UK) www.cpfc.co.uk/page/WelcomePass the word along to your friends!
