STINKS... I wish he was gone. What a lack of 1st base talent and his hitting is abysmal.
Nyger Morgan is impressive thus far. I really like this years team minus Adam LaRoche.

Adam isn't doing that bad. His play at first base is good, he just needs to work on his hitting so he is actually consistent instead of the whole April-May slump.
I'm happy that we gave Andy a couple days off to work on getting ground balls and just getting better at the infield. I mean he had 3 errors in 2 games that were routine outs. He is playing pretty well today against the Reds though. Hopefully he can keep playing like this and not make anymore errors.
Nyjer -- he is so fast it is ridiculous. He hit the ball today over the head of Taveras which I thought that he was only going to get a single or a really close play at second. No, he gets a triple (which don't get me wrong I am extremely happy about that)! I was waiting to see the camera angle of him running, but he is just too fast that the camera couldn't keep up with him.
Freddy -- What the heck was he doing today?? He swung at a pitch that was like 2 feet away from him. Think man think! O well, he is still doing good!
I could sit here for hours posting a long message on each player (I would do that too), but I will just sum it up. The Pirates are off to a good start. Hopefully we can continue to play like this for the entire season and get somewhere this year. I still have hope....I have always had hope.
LET'S GO BUCS!!

Will Andy ever get a hit? Where's Neil?

Neil is with Indianapolis. I wish he was playing with the Pirates though.....one of the teachers at my school who used to teach Neil at Pine-Richland keeps asking me when he will get up here because he wants to watch him play.
Paul rocks! That is all you need to say about that man.

Pears, I'd dump Andy before Adam any day of the week. Andy hit about .150 after getting traded to the Bucs last year, and I'm convinced a cardboard cutout could field better than him. Now he's started this year still fielding like a little leaguer and he doesn't have a hit yet. His brother does, including that moonshot in the 9th this afternoon. Neil Walker can't get here fast enough.
As for Adam, it's the same thing every year, he hits about .190 for the first two months and then tears it up over the final four months. Look at his stats, usually in the range of .270 with 25 homers and 80 RBI. Plus, he is a quality defensive 1st baseman. Sure, he's a little slow on the base paths, but he's not here to steal bases. Compared to some other players the Pirates have had at first (Craig Wilson comes to mind), I'd take LaRoche any day.

Adam has been doing better.....not very consistent....but better. Andy has progressed since last season as well. Grant it he has what, approximately 4-5 errors? Yet, his bat is working better and his fielding has improved.
Give the LaRoche brothers some credit.
