Due to the rain this morning and it being a 1-hour drive from here to Altoona, I didn't go to the games today. (I did manage to do more research at the library, though. Years '77-'79 are in the books now)

I'll send you over an updated working document.

Not a big surprise on the Baltimore more score this time. Not only was MDS playing short-handed, but even against Altoona they were a step behind. I swear, Altoona beat out routine ground balls about 8 times in the 4 innings I watched. And it wasn't even from double-clutching or anything, MDS just had really slow fielders. Sorry I couldn't get scores for you guys today, but I'm using up all my PTO for the tournament itself Brian_V

Brian....thanks for all that you do. The National Tournament is much more important to use your PTO. No big deal on the scores....they won't change much if we don't get them until the next day. ;D
If anyone has today's updates please post.

altoonamirror.com/page/content.detail/id/521275.html?nav=765Going to be a busy day in Altoona today. Altoona and Philly were to complete yesterday's suspended game at 10 a.m. this morning, with the loser playing against Baltimore at 11:30. The winner of the 11:30 game would then move on to play the winner of the Altoona/Philly completed game at 3:00 in the first game of the championship. If a second championship game is needed, it would be played tomorrow at 10 a.m.

www.hometeamsonline.com/teams/?u=AAABA&s=baseball&t=cTyler Scheuerman comes through with updates. Philly finishes off Altoona 14-4, but Altoona eliminates Baltimore 5-2. Philadelphia (2-0) Altoona (2-1) Baltimore (1-2) Maryland State (0-2) (No word on the championship game yet, but that's not really the important news today.) Philadelphia is the 16th team. Congratulations to the Bandits on qualifying (and doing it the hard way). Congratulations also must be in store for Altoona, being the first team in 7 years to give Baltimore a second loss. This is shaping up to be a good year for the two local teams. But I guess the only thing that's certain is that we're going to have a new champion in 2009. Brian_V

Altoona beats Philadelphia 6-5 in the night cap. Philly then forfeits the championship game due to injuries (they only have 8 guys), so Altoona wins their 2nd consecutive regional.
Altoona is looking strong this season. Hopefully Philly will get healty during this week so they can put on a good showing in the national.
