Rob Blake resigns with San Jose on a 1 year deal for $3.5 million. Bill Guerin resigns with the Pens on a 1 year deal for $2 million, also resigns Craig Adams.
Both Sergei Fedorov and Kozlov sign with teams in the KHL.
Also add D-Jay McKee (STL), F-Peter Schaefer (BOS) and F-Brett McLean (FLA) to the free agent list, they all have been placed on waviers and if the pass through will have their contracts bought out.

I think Heatley will stay in Ottawa. Every team would love to have Dany, but not his salary. TSN reports Ottawa has recieved many offers, but nothing that good to make a trade, only Edmonton & the Rangers are still talking to the Sens. Besides his large and lenthy contract, he is to get a $4 million bouns if he is on a NHL roster on July 1.

D Johnny Oduya resigns with the Devils D Jay Bouwmeester signs with the Flames The Sedin twins resign with the Canucks for 5 yrs with a cap hit of $6.1 million F Erik Christensen resigns with the Ducks F Jere Lehtinen regins with the Stars
for a more complete list check TSN's free agency list at tsn.ca
TSN also reports that the potential deal betwwen the Sens and Oiler will take a little longer beacause Heatley will not waive his no-trade clause. I don't get it, he tells the Sens he does not want to play for them, but will not waive the no-trade clause in his contract.

Watch out for Florida!!!
Clemmensen to Florida -- After losing Anderson to the Avalanche, the Panthers pounced on Clemmensen, who filled in wonderfully for the New Jersey Devils when Martin Brodeur went down early in the season with a biceps injury.
Clemmensen, who turns 32 on July 23, went 25-13-1 with a 2.39 goals-against average and a .917 save percentage in 40 games for the Devils. It was the first time he made more than 13 appearances in an NHL season. The deal is worth $3.6 million.
Another Shocker... no not Hal Gill...
Not long after the free-agency market opened, the Habs shored up their defense with the signings of veterans Jaroslav Spacek and Hal Gill. Spacek signed a three-year deal with the Habs, while Gill agreed to a two-year contract. The signings came shortly before the team learned that All-Star Mike Komisarek was leaving for the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Spacek, 35, appeared in 80 games for the Buffalo Sabres last season, scoring 8 goals and 37 assists. He has 73 goals in 701 career games. Gill, 34, helped the Pittsburgh Penguins win the Stanley Cup last month. After going 2-8-10 in 62 games during the regular season, Gill had a pair of assists in 24 postseason contests.
"We decided it was time to part ways," Gill said on TSN. "I think the time was right. It's a great organization and I've always loved to play (at the Bell Centre). I'm excited about it. It just seemed to fit."
Wait until Chicago is strangled by Hossa's salary and has to dump thier young talent... Mr. Toews, Mr. Kane and Mr. Sharp are going to leave unless they trade Hossa.
BIG NEWS>>>> TOO MUCH CASH!!! Free-agent forward Marian Gaborik has agreed to a five-year contract with the New York Rangers. TSN reports that the Slovakian forward will earn $7.5 million per year.
Gaborik has played his entire seven-year career with the Wild, scoring 219 goals and 437 points in 502 games. Injuries limited Gaborik to just 13 goals and 23 points in 17 games this season. Gaborik set career highs in goals (42), assists (41) and points (83) in 77 games during 2007-08 campaign.
The 27-year-old was the No. 3 pick in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft.
(just think! He scored 5 goals on the Rangers...in one game... I guess Money Talks...)

I guess the Hawks are going to lose in the finals for the next 12 seasons.
I agree with you pearsennui, after a couple of years, they are gonna have alot of problems keeping there younger players. both Kane anf Toews are in the final year of their entry level contracts, and they will get big money. Also they got some good young defenseman namley Duncan Keith who will want the kind of money that the hawks gave Campbell. Plus Khabby left for the Oilers and Huet will be their starter, not sure about their depth in goal, let's just say I'd be conserned about the pipes.
The Hawks also signed C- John Madden to a one year deal.
$7.5 million for 5 years to Gaborik, WOW, good news is that will not count against the cap for about half the season.

I think the Canadiens might finally be creating a team worthy of the NHL!!! MINUS Carey price. I am not a Canadiens fan... but I would be pleased with thier moves... I wonder if they are passing on Kovalev or will he retire...
General Manager Bob Gainey started to reconfigure his team Tuesday by trading for Rangers center Scott Gomez. He continued that process Wednesday, signing center Michael Cammalleri, winger Brian Gionta and defensemen Jaroslav Spacek and Hal Gill.

I was hoping the pens would pounce on Gaborik. Would have loved to have him.

I think the pens got better value out of Billy Guerin. Gaborik when healthy is a force... But he is hurt way too often like Daniel Briere to earn that kind of cash. It was a huge gamble for NY. If you are looking for free agent signings for the pens... You'd best watch their own team - AHL and NHL. I think their focus is keeping guys and not fishing in the FA pool.

HOSSA signs with Chiacgo... I was watching Sportscenter this morning and I liked how they phrased it. "Well, Chicago is going to make it into the Stanley Cup Finals and lose because they signed Marian Hossa to a 12-year deal." It made me laugh.
